Test preparation materials:
We highly recommend that you obtain the official handbook from the publishers TSO. This handbook is recommended by gov.uk. The paperback costs £7.50 at the time of writing (Kindle costs a bit lower), and we believe that this book is simple, clear and highly valuable for test takers. The book is a valuable addition to the tests on lituktests.com.
In addition to the above book, we also highly recommend the A Practical Guide to Living in the United Kingdom book from the publishers TSO. If you are new to the United Kingdom, this handy book introduces you to the laws of UK, culture and gives the reader a gentle introduction to the British way of life. Thus, the book is a good start point for preparing for the Life in the UK test. The book is slightly more expensive than the official guide (at around£10) but is invaluable for people who have just moved to the UK to work or study. If you need to make a choice between the two books, with the Life in the UK test in mind, we would lean towards buying the official guide, since it is directly related to the test and is recommended by the UK Gov.
If you are struggling to provide evidence of the English Language for your naturalisation/citizenship/ILR, you might need to take the IELTS/ESOL equivalent test. You need to prove your knowledge of English by having a recognised English test qualification from an approved test centre. You can view the list of approved courses here and a list of approved test centers here. If you have decided to take the IELTS test as a means to provide evidence, we can recommend IELTS Life Skills - CEFR Level A1 - Speaking & Listening - Student's book and IELTS Life Skills Official Cambridge Test Practice A1 Audio CDs
Good luck with your tests.
